November rain

November rain

In pouring rain
come November
we were playful kids
drenched in muddy fields
little friendly faces
kept us in cheerful company
in season of togetherness

We've grown to smile at life's pose
the graciousness of true love
in pouring late November rains
we abide passionately
its season of endless memories.

Writing Penang early history

View of Georgetown and Fort Cornwallis, Penang. 1846.
Watercolour painting by Charles Andrew Dyce, 354 x 514mm.

In 2015 I decided to put on permanent record i.e. on the world wide web a historical piece I did while studying history at the Universiti Sains Malaysia at Penang in the early 1970's.   I self-published the writing in the form of a blog called " The First 100 years of Penang Free School" in August 2015.

Historical writing made the fun way

Bintulu Fish Market in the 1970's
One of the challenges I put myself is in writing history  that is fun.  How?  In today's inter-connected world of the Internet and self-publishing and advanced pictorial digital technology that is free, I have endeavoured to optimise its advantages in the form of writing history by combining narrative with images.  A blog created to meet this end is called " Images of Bintulu Before and Now".  It is a pictorial history of Bintulu. I started wring in this blog in November 2010.

Photographing Butterflies in 2015

I am continually on the hunt for butterflies that visit my nature park in Bintulu.  To start the collection of butterfly pictures I shall focus in this posting those butterflies that  I managed to photograph in 2015.  My interest in photography and love of wildlife keeps me passionate about photographing butterflies.  In order to get more species coming to the park, I have developed an area in the park at Zone C into a Butterfly garden.  This butterfly garden could afford me to be more close-up and personal with the butterflies and hopefully the garden can attract more rare species to the park in future.  For a compilation of butterflies taken at the Butterfly garden  in 2015 which have been properly named, please follow this link here

All the images above were taken in 2015 at Kambatik Park, Bintulu.

The Bintulu sunset in MOOD's photography

The Bintulu beaches are awesome locations for sunset photgraphy.  The Bintulu sunset is a natural resource of great tourism potential for Bintulu.  In the above captures I have tried to capture the beauty of the Bintulu sunset.
